Ambassador Seán O’Regan is a career diplomat with a broad range of experience across many policy areas. He is currently the Ambassador of Ireland to Egypt and Lebanon. Previously he served as the Irish Ambassador to Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Between 2013 and 2015 Mr. O’Regan served as the Joint Director General for the International Fund for Ireland which was established as an independent organisation by the British and Irish Governments in 1986 with financial contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Between 2009 and 2013 Mr. O’Regan served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Irish Embassy in China.
Ambassador Seán O’Regan revived his Bachelor of Science, Microbiology from University College Cork in 1984 and his Masters of Commerce – Government in 2000.
