No Kidding Around
Fueled by a child’s natural desire to create, explore and collaborate, KidZania is equal parts entertainment and learning, making it one of the most progressive family entertainment concepts in the world today. Founded in 1997 by Xavier López Ancona and a group of fellow Mexican businessmen, KidZania is a private company and has already entertained and engaged over 60 million visitors in twenty seven locations around the world.
One of these locations is right here in Cairo. Spearheaded by its Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ahmed Habib, Kidzania Cairo has captured the hearts and curiosity of tens of thousands of KidZ across Egypt since opening its doors and offering more than 80 professions where KidZ can role-play and discover their interests.
“Kidzania Cairo is a strong example and recognition of the ever growing relations between the Egyptian and Mexican private sector and highlights the potential opportunities which come with cooperation and mutual benefit,” said Ahmed Habib CEO of Kidzania Cairo. “That is why we are participating at the Global Trade Matters 4th Ambassadors Edition Global Competitiveness Summit addressing the Role of Youth in Global Competitiveness,” he continued.
“I believe that the drive for competitiveness is essential as part of our maturity, but I also believe that cooperation, team work and fair play should be instilled within the minds of our children at an early stage,” said Habib.
KidZania supports learning goals of financial literacy by contributing to a child’s understanding of the economic cycle. Each KidZania city operates with a proprietary currency, named “kidZo”, which enables participants to learn about monetary management by earning kidZos through employment, letting them acquire goods and services as customers, saving into bank accounts, investing long term, paying taxes and giving back to the community through donations.
“KidZ are the youth of tomorrow and the leaders of the future, so when we address youth related issues, we need to first focus on children development, understand their needs and share their visions,” said Habib.
